BlackBox Connection Configuration​

Local Connection

Type: Radio selection

Description:
Connects the POS to a BlackBox or service running on the same machine.

When selected:

  • The system uses a local loopback network.
  • No external IP configuration is required.
  • Commonly used for:
  • Embedded devices
  • Development environments

Impact on user interface and system

  • Manual IP entry is disabled or ignored.
  • The connection targets localhost / 127.0.0.1.

Manual IP Entry

Type: Radio selection

Description:
Allows the POS to connect to a remote BlackBox device using a manually entered IP address.

When selected:

  • The IP address input field becomes active.
  • POS attempts to communicate with the specified device over the network.
  • Used for:
  • External payment devices
  • Network-based BlackBox systems

Note: These options are mutually exclusive. Select the appropriate option based on your BlackBox configuration.
